The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Date set for new U.S. regulations on Cuba to be published
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury will publish new regulations regarding Cuba on September 15, reported the U.S.-Cuba Economic and Trade Council, July 10.

Cuba denounces blockade at World Trade Organization
On December 19, Cuba highlighted before the World Trade Organization (WTO) that the U.S. blockade remains in effect and is practically unchanged, while it continues to be the principal obstacle to the country’s development. This according to Alina Revilla, the island’s commercial representative to the UN in Geneva and other international organizations based in Switzerland, participating in the 13th U.S. Trade Policy Review at the WTO.
