The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Tornado in El Berrinche, San Cristóbal, Artemisa

During the afternoon of today between 07: 20-07: 45 pm (23: 20-23: 45UTC), a strong storm affected areas of the municipality of San Cristóbal and a tune was observed in the town of El Berrinche. According to information provided by local residents, the tornado moved to the north and traveled approximately 900m. Until the moment this note is prepared, there have been reports of damage to the electrical service and homes with partial and total roof damage. Taking into account the affectations it is classified as an F1.

Two tornados, a year later

If we talk about challenging years, 2019 undoubtedly stands out for Havana. On January 2019, city residents lived a moment we will never forget. Just as the city was preparing to celebrate its 500th anniversary, we learned how the power of the wind could destroy everything in its path. On the evening of Sunday, January 27, residents of the municipalities of Diez de Octubre, Regla, San Miguel del Padrón, Guanabacoa and part of Havana del Este experienced a phenomenon like no other, which left six dead and injured over 190, while 5,000 suffered damages and substantial material losses.
