The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

The multidisciplinary team that enters the surgical unit of the Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery (ICCC) around 10:30 am on October 31 knows the steps, has reviewed them with precision. In severe cases of degenerative aortic stenosis—or what is the same, the narrowing of the valve in the large blood vessel that originates from the heart (aorta) and does not allow the valve to open completely.

Professor Ronaldo Veitía arrived in Havana and will be treated at the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital
Ronaldo Veitía, a worldwide judo personality, returned to his homeland from Spain on Monday, where he remained hospitalized due to health problems. Upon his arrival, he thanked the island’s authorities for the support offered. At his own request, he is already in Havana, where he was received at the José Martí International Airport by Dr. Pablo Castillo Díaz, director of the Institute of Sports Medicine, who welcomed him on behalf of the Cuban sports movement and people.

The book “Dialogue with dance”, autobiography of Alicia Alonso, is published in Spain
On the occasion of the centenary of Alicia Alonso , the Cumbres publishing house published in Madrid the book Dialogue with Fance, by the prima ballerina assoluta . The volume becomes an autobiographical record of her eminent career and includes fundamental texts on her artistic concepts from her position as a dancer, choreographer and trainer of the new generations of ballet on the island, stated the Cuban National Ballet (BNC). According to the BNC, this edition deserved the praise of the Codalario magazine.

Lawsuit against Meliá Hotels thrown out
“The blockade and big-stick laws are destined to fail. We will continue to promote foreign investment to support Cuba’s economic development,” tweeted Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, on September 4, after a Spanish judge issued a hold on a lawsuit filed by the Sánchez-Hill family seeking compensation from Meliá Hotels International, the first ruling by a European court since the activation of the U.S. Helms-Burton Act’s Title III.

Eusebio Leal was Awarded Honoris Causa Title In Spain
The Spanish University of Alicante (UA) conferred it’s Honoris Causa doctorate to the Historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal. At the ceremony, the house of higher studies highlighted Leal work in the process of restoration and conservation of the historic area of Havana, combined with the economic and social development of his community. The Historian of Havana thanked the distinction and stressed the historic ties between Spain and his country.
