The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

The U.S. returns 82 illegal migrants to Cuba
The US Coast Guard returned 82 illegal migrants to Cuba, Cuba’s Ministry of the Interior (MININT) on Friday reported on its official website. According to a press release from that institution, the action carried out on Tuesday by the Port of Orozco, in Mariel, Artemisa (west of Havana), corresponds to what is established in the migratory agreements between both nations.

Diaz-Canel praises pediatric clinical trials against Covid-19 in Cuba
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday described as transcendental the approval by health authorities of the start of the anti-Covid-19 clinical trials in pediatric people, using the vaccine candidates from the Caribbean island. The proven safety of Soberana02 and SoberanaPlus has made it possible to take this step, among the first in the world, said the president on his Twitter account, where he thanked Cuban scientists for this achievement.

Díaz-Canel receives Kenyan Minister of Health
President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez yesterday afternoon received Minister of Health of the Republic of Kenya His Excellency Mutahi Kagwe, who is conducting a working visit in our country. During the cordial meeting, both leaders highlighted the positive state of relations shared by the two countries and welcomed the recent signing of agreements for the provision of health care services, as well as the training of doctors from that African nation in Cuba.

One of the guiding objectives of the Informatics, Communications and Electronics Industrial Enterprise (Gedeme) is to create production chains and alliances to achieve greater productivity, while substituting imports, promoting innovation and taking advantage of the potential of national industry. Progress on these goals was advanced recently with the launching of a project to manufacture 50 towers for mobile phone service.

A farcical debate on Cuba in European Parliament
Today, June 8, the European Parliament has scheduled an artificial debate on what they call the political situation and human rights in Cuba. “If the European Parliament decides to discuss Cuba, the debate would necessarily need to refer to the massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the human rights of the entire Cuban population, by the genocidal, immoral and illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States government has maintained against our country for more than 60 years,” reads a statement from the Cuban diplomatic mission in Brussels.

Mini-industries key to making the most of production
Since the Agricultural Enterprise Group (GAG) affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture was established five years ago, this entity’s policy has been to prioritize the development of its entire enterprise system, with the creation of agro-industrial companies, to close the production cycle with the highest possible value added to agricultural produce. US magazine asks for uplifting of US blockade on Cuba
Going through the worst phase of the pandemic Covid-19 in Cuba, the uplifting of the US blockade would be clearly the most rational and humanitarian action, CovertAction magazine told today. The US publication makes an extensive analysis of the situation in that Caribbean nation as a result of the recent repudiation in UN General Assembly by 184 countries of Washington’ s blockade policies. In another part of their evaluations, the analysis dealt with the increase of pressure so that the White House softens at least the policy against the Cuban people.
