The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuba-US Meeting Held in a Professional Climate

Cuba and the United States reported today here on specific topics related to the process of reestablishment of the diplomatic relations between both country, reported today a source of the Cuban chancellery. The director of Bilateral Matters of the General Direction of the United States of the Department of Foreign Affairs he added that ‘, on having finished the meeting, which developed in a professional climate, two delegations agreed to mantain the communication in the future as part of this process ‘.

Cuba, USA Talk on Restoring Relations

A new meeting between delegations of Cuba and the United States is being held today in this capital, to continue discussion on issues referred to the process for the restoration of diplomatic relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed here that the delegations will be headed by Director General of the United States Department at the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Josefina Vidal, and Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roberta Jacobson.
