The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

First draft of proposed new Constitution progressing
Progress is being made by the commission charged with writing the first draft of a new Constitution, headed by its president, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba. During this past week, June 10-15, wide-ranging and profound discussion has continued among commission members, with the goal of putting a document into the hands of the people that will strengthen the Revolution.

Raúl Castro: The Communist Party of Cuba will continue to support the new President
Army General Raúl Castro began his closing speech of the Constituent Session of the National Assembly of People’s Power by recalling Cuba’s victory at Playa Girón (Bay of Pigs) following the U.S.-backed mercenary invasion. He noted the significance of the event and the preceding days, especially Fidel’s declaration of the socialist nature of the Cuban Revolution.
