The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Raúl receives Iranian Foreign Minister
This Monday, August 22, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz received His Excellency Mohammad Javad Zarif, minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on an official visit to the island. Raúl bids farewell to President Evo Morales
On the morning of August 16, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, bid farewell to compañero Evo Morales Ayma, President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, at the José Martí International Airport. There is no room for improvisation or defeatism
Speaking during the plenary session of the National Assembly of People’s Power, July 8, President Raúl Castro Ruz, insisted, “When facing difficulties and threats, there is no room for improvisation or defeatism.” In an explication of the current economic conjuncture, Raúl commented that a June 25 Council of Ministers meeting and Party Central Committee Plenum, July 7, had both concentrated their analysis on the economy’s performance during the first half of the year.
