The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

In Norway Negotiating Teams for Peace in Colombia

Oslo, Oct 17 (Prensa Latina) The negotiating teams of the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People”s Army (FARC-EP) arrived in this capital to formally hold peace talks for a solution to the armed conflict in that South American nation. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway both parties will meet tomorrow at Hurdal Hotel, an hour and a half from Oslo, in a place reserved by the hosts.

Yesterday I had the satisfaction of having a pleasant conversation with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I had not seen him since 2006, more than five years ago, when he visited our country to participate in the 14th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement of Countries in Havana. During the summit, Cuba was elected for the second time as president of the organization for a three-year term.

Bolivia Hosts Congress of Solidarity with Cuba

Condemning the US blockade of Cuba and supporting the campaign to free the Cuban anti-terrorists jailed in the United States are the main goals of the 11th Congress of Bolivia”s Solidarity with Cuba. As of today, some 250 guests from every Bolivian department, plus 30 counterparts from Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, are present in this 48-hour event in La Paz.
