The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Ministry of Economy and Planning approved 96 new economic actors
The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) today approved 96 applications for the creation of micro, small and medium-sized private companies. With this decision, a total of 4,955 economic actors have been approved since the process began in September 2021. Of these, 4,846 are private MSMEs, 51 state MSMEs, and 58 non-agricultural cooperatives. By origin, 53% are reconversions of pre-existing businesses and 47% correspond to new ventures.

Rafael Fundora’s secret, or how Cuban lemons got to Spain
Lázaro Rafael Fundora Hernández is a man who does not believe in luck. Making his first export of lemons to Spain and directing the sale of avocados abroad has been the result of many years of perseverance. “What we achieved was a family endeavor, we proposed them and we achieved it,” he says without stopping the movement of the mincer over the lands where he was born.

Non-state sector: Banco Metropolitano reports on facilities to open accounts in MLC
Banco Metropolitano reported today on the offer of a service to open current accounts in freely convertible currency (MLC) for non-state forms of management. Through a press release, the institution explained about the implementation of the necessary mechanisms to guarantee the process of opening current accounts in MLC for Cuban natural and legal persons who carry out foreign trade activity.
