The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Roof slab of a building collapses in Old Havana

At 7:10 a.m. This Monday a roof slab collapsed in a room of the building located at Sol No.466 between Egido and Villegas, in Old Havana, which caused the death of a girl. The detached element in the three-story building affected the lower room, reports journalist Daniela Gutiérrez, from Canal Habana. Immediately, local and provincial authorities moved to the scene along with firefighters, ambulance and the Ministry of the Interior. The follow-up of the actions carried out at the scene of the events continues and the population will be informed in a timely manner.
