The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuban Parliament Commissions Discuss Social, Economic Issues
The Cuban National Assembly begins today three days of work of its 12 permanent commissions to analyze social and economic issues prior to the 9th Ordinary Period of Sessions, scheduled for Monday, July 23. The Havana’s Conference Center is the venue of the second parliamentary day. The Central Bank of Cuba, the Ministry of Higher Education and the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources reported yesterday to the plenary session of legislators.
