U.S.-Cuba Business Council created in Washington

The U.S.-Cuba Business Council was inaugurated on September 25 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters, in Washington D.C. The body aims to foment a strategic trade relationship between the two countries, establish business sector ties and promote the identification of business opportunities for both nations, according to the Cuban Embassy in Washington’s website.

President Correa thanks Cuba for medical cooperation

This past September, during the inauguration of an ambulatory clinic at Guayaquil’s Abel G. Pontón Hospital, President Rafael Correa reported that during his administration medical services have been doubled, with doctor visits increasing from 16 to 36 million, thanks to the Citizens Revolution and Cuban cooperation.
According to Cubaminrex website, Cuba’s collaboration began in 2012 with 75 medial professionals in Ecuador, a figure which has now reached 816, as a result of 11 agreements, nine with the country’s Ministry of Public Health and two with its Social Security Institute.
