The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuba grieves losses due to torrential rains in Germany

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez sent condolences today to the people and government of Germany for the loss of human lives, the injured and the material damage caused by recent storms and torrential rains. Through his official Twitter account, the Foreign Minister extended his condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. According to German authorities, so far there are 19 dead and 70 people missing due to the rains and floods that hit the western part of the country.

Díaz-Canel: Cuba will not renounce its sovereignty or independence

“We are not intimidated by threats from the United States, which are part of its interventionist policy toward Cuba. It is deplorable that the country’s diplomats are incited to violate international law and the laws of the United States. Cuba will not renounce its sovereignty or independence,” said President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on his Twitter account.

Intellectuals join forces to denounce U.S. attacks on Venezuela

“Heroic, Bolivarian, revolutionary Venezuela calls upon our sister peoples of the continent and the world,” said Ernesto Villegas, minister of People’s Power for Culture in the nation, during an event held at the Venezuelan embassy in Havana, by the Cuban chapter of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity (REDH) to support a letter from Venezuelans to UN General Secretary António Guterres and the peoples of the world, which has been co-signed by millions. The campaign is being promoted with the hashtag #noMoretrump.

Cuba cannot be defeated

Cuba will continue along its own path, and as much as submissive and servile lackeys, like the current Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Luis Almagro, would like to destroy us, they will never be able to do so.
