The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel reaffirmed Cuba’s excellent relations with China here, yesterday September 2. Díaz-Canel is leading the Cuban delegation to festivities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Chinese people’s victory over fascism in WWII. After visiting a museum devoted to the Chinese people’s resistance struggle against the Japanese Empire, Díaz-Canel was received by Vice President Li Yuanchao.

China Hopes U.S., Japan Respect Regional Security
Beijing, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) China expressed hopes on Friday that Japan and the US will respect regional security, after comments on a review of Japan-U.S. defense alliance guidelines between the two nations to expand cooperation between their forces. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei made the statements on Friday, urging Japan and the United States not to harm the interests of third parties and to respect the security concerns of regional countries.

President Raul Castro Meets Chinese counterpart
Beijing 5 jul (Prensa Latina) Cuba and China noted the excellent state of their relations, discussed extensively by Presidents Raul Castro and Hu Jintao during official talks at the Great Palace of the People, in Beijing. Both heads of state held a private meeting before those talks, also preceded by the official welcoming ceremony to the Cuban leader and his delegation, composed by the Vice President of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

Cuban President Raul Castro Visits China
Beijing, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuba”s President Raul Castro began today an official visit to China, focused on strengthening bilateral relations, through the signing of some cooperation agreements. According to reports, the Cuban head of State also expects to talk with his Chinese peer Hu Jintao and other top authorities about international and regional issues of common interest.
