The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuban Medical Brigade celebrates 18 years in Guatemala
Cuban doctors, nurses, technicians, and other professionals continue sharing their love today in all corners of Guatemala, just as they first did 18 years ago.
The dedication of this army of white coats, as Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro named them, has earned the affection and respect of many people in this land, as was made clear during the celebration commemorating their arrival in 1998, following Hurricane Mitch.

A white bird soars through time
ALTHOUGH the universally acclaimed Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamín reiterated in multiple interviews that he only knew how to paint, many of his comments, jealously safeguarded at the foundation which bears his name, indicate the contrary. He was humanist, a thinker, from the canvas to the word.

Cuban youth march for the homeland
On the evening of January 27, the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz attended the March of the Torches in honor of national hero José Martí, commemorating the 163rd anniversary of his birth. The Cuban President was accompanied by former Presidents of Uruguay, José (Pepe) Mujica, and the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernández.
