Statement by the ANAP regarding U.S. government measure

On April 22, the State Department announced the decision to include coffee on the list of Cuban products produced by the non-state sector which could be imported into that country. This as a continuation of a measure adopted by the government of the United States in February 2015, authorizing very limited Cuban exports, which excluded all goods and services produced by state enterprises.

Cuban Small Farmers Consider Positive Agricultural Cooperative

The 11th Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) assessed as positive the economic activity the cooperatives are developing, and called for a more comprehensive use of bank credit and insurance. ANAP President Rafael Santiesteban said during the final session of the event closed this weekend that the working commission carried out an extensive debate.

11th ANAP Congress starts today

Important issues such as increased production volumes and their impact on food prices and the economy will be addressed from today until May 17, during the 11th Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP). The proposals to be presented at the event – taking place at the Havana Convention Center with an expected 700 delegates and 150 invited guests – are the result of assemblies at the municipal and provincial level held in recent months.
