The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

German Parliamentarians Demand U.S. Release of the Cuban Five
Berlin, May 24 (Prensa Latina) German parliamentarians demanded U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to act in favour of the release and return to Cuba of the Five antiterrorists condemned to long sentences in the northern country. Cuba Denounces U.S. Actions against Brands
The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday denounced new U.S. actions against Cuban trademarks, a position that threatens the protection of industrial property. Colombia Approves Draft Bill for Possible Peace Talks
Bogota, May 16 (Prensa Latina) The House of Representatives of Colombia approved a draft bill to establish a legal peace framework in the country for a possible negotiation with armed groups on the margin of the law. The draft bill was ratified by 126 votes in favor and four against. It should be now debated in the Senate of the Republic.
