Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Receives the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Cuba

Viceministro minrexThe Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Ine Eriksen Søreide, received this afternoon the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Cuba, Marcelino Medina González, who is making a working visit to Norway.

During their friendly meeting, both parties acknowledged their reciprocal interest in continuing deepening their bilateral, friendly and cooperative relations. They also highlighted the communication and cooperation that have existed between both countries while they have played their role of guarantors of the peace process in Colombia.

The Cuban diplomat also conveyed his gratitude, on behalf of the Cuban people and government, for Norway’s stance in support of the Cuban resolution against the US blockade.

Cuba and Norway share historical bonds. They established diplomatic relations on May 12th, 1909, and are celebrating 110 years of uninterrupted relations.
