This time they could not resort to a coup d’êtat in Venezuela as they did with Allende in Chile and in other counties in Our America. The armed forces of this fraternal country both promote and are a part of the Revolution. They are educated in the spirit and example of the Liberator, and it was their ranks that nurtured the current leaders who began this process

On August 6, on the 65th anniversary of that monstrous crime, Canadian academic Michel Chossudovsky reported that Harry S. Truman himself wrote in his diary 11 days before the release of the bomb: “We have discovered the most terrible bomb in the history of the world. It could be the fire destruction that was foretold in the Euphrates valley, after Noah’s Ark …. This weapon will be used against Japan …

These elections are of enormous significance and the empire knows it: it wants to weaken the revolution, limiting its ability to fight, to deprive it of the two-thirds majority of the National Assembly to facilitate its counterrevolutionary plans, increasing its vile media campaign and continuing to encircle Venezuela with military bases, surrounding it more and more with the lethal weapons of international drug trafficking and violence.
