The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Another celebration of Cuban workers

The fact that this May Day Cubans will remain behind closed doors, once again, with the same desire to march we felt in 2020, does not mean in any way that we renounce the celebration of International Workers’ Day, a universal century-old commemoration, which in Cuba is a massive event, to share with family and co-workers.

Central Report to the Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba

The opening of the Eighth Party Congress takes place on a transcendental date in the nation’s history: The 60th anniversary of the proclamation by Comandante en jefe Fidel Castro Ruz of the socialist character of the Revolution, on April 16, 1961, at the funeral farewell for those killed the previous day in the bombing of our air bases, prelude to the mercenary invasion at Playa Giron, organized and financed by the United States government as part of plans to crush the example of the Cuban Revolution.

ALBA-TCP recognizes Raul’s dedication

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) paid tribute to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, as he concluded his work as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee. Alliance member countries conveyed their tribute in a communiqué as a “just recognition of a life devoted to the liberation of our peoples, to the struggle for social justice and internationalist solidarity.

Havana clinics prepare for mass vaccination against COVID-19

Although health authorities have yet to set the starting date for mass vaccination against COVID-19 in Cuba, authorities in Havana are working at an accelerated pace to prepare clinical sites that will undertake the important, complex task. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez elected as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee

President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez was elected today, Monday, as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, during the first plenary meeting of the leadership body, elected by the delegates to the 8th Party Congress Sunday evening. Army General Raúl Castro Ruz made this announcement after reporting the 14 members of the Political Bureau, including nine returning to the body and five added as new members.

Results of vote to elect members of the Central Committee to be announced along with agreements adopted in this body’s first plenary session, including the election of its first secretary and members of the Political Bureau and Secretariat. The updated Conceptualization reaffirms that we are living a historical period in the construction of socialism

8th Party Congress resolution on the Updating of the Conceptualization of the Cuban economic and social model of socialist development. In the session focused on this subject, a total of 32 comments were made. Based on the content of the discussion and proposals, it was agreed to submit the following to the 8th Congress for its analysis and approval.
