US Committee to Free The Cuban Five Announces Panel Discussion

Washington, Feb 5 (Prensa Latina) The U.S. National Committee to free five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters jailed in the United States has announced an upcoming panel discussion with prominent intellectuals to present the truth about those men. That organization, headquartered in the city of California, San Francisco, will hold the event on February 20 at the University of Maryland, with the objective of publicizing the case of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez.

Venezuelan Opposition Legislators under Investigation


Caracas, Feb 6 (Prensa Latina) Allegations of corruption against the Venezuelan opposition party Primero Justicia, presented in the National Assembly, placed today three lawmakers from that political force in the center of an investigation approved by the legislature. Cuba: International Education Congress Opens

Havana, Feb 4 (Prensa Latina) The International Congress “Pedagogia 2013″ begins activities today with a master lecture by Cuban Education Minister Ena Elsa Velazquez, and a cultural event with about 500 students from art schools. The scientific event, to be run until February 8, is one of the largest one of its kind in the country, and it expects the attendance of about 3,000 people from some 32 countries, authorities from the Ministry of Education (MINED) said at a news conference.

Massive Turnout at The Polls in Cuba


Havana, Feb 3 (Prensa Latina) Despite a cold and persistent rain Cubans went out to vote early in the morning in the general elections that will define the makeup of the National People”s Power Assembly (Parliament). Chileans Support Cuba’s Presidency in CELAC

In remarks to Prensa Latina, activist Pedro Bronzic stated that a rally will be held at Plaza Italia to support the Cuban Revolution, which continues at the center of the international right-wing attacks.
