The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Cuban Vice President visits the burning chapel of Isabel II

The Vice President of Cuba, Salvador Valdés, visited this Sunday the funeral chapel of Elizabeth II in the Palace of Westminster, to pay tribute to the British monarch who died on September 8 at the age of 96. Valdés, who heads the Cuban delegation to the sovereign’s funeral, also signed the book of condolences opened by the UK Foreign Ministry at Lancaster House, a diplomatic source reported. The vice president of the Caribbean island will also attend the reception that the new King Carlos III will offer this Sunday.

The Canadian company Blue Diamond Resorts will manage the oldest hotel in Cuba

The Canadian company Blue Diamond Resorts reported this Saturday that it will expand its presence in Cuba and will manage the Hotel Inglaterra, the oldest in the largest of the Antilles, located in Havana. As of November, Blue Diamond will begin to manage this facility, located a few meters from the National Capitol, the Alicia Alonso Grand Theater of Havana and the Paseo del Prado. Cuba and the United Kingdom promote projects and actions against COVID-19

The British embassy supports the Center for Neurosciences in its effort to optimize diagnoses and treatments that minimize brain damage caused by the new coronavirus. The Governments of Cuba and the United Kingdom promote projects and actions against COVID-19 on the island, according to a note released by the British embassy. According to the text, seven small-scale projects and actions are being carried out in Cuba with funds from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Cuba will accept and assist travelers on British cruise ship MS Braemar

On March 13, the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland requested that Cuban authorities allow the Fred Olsen cruise line’s MS Braemar to dock in a Cuban port with a small number of travelers with the new coronavirus (SARS CoV 2/Covid-19), and assist in their repatriation by air. In conjunction with British authorities, arrangements have been made, once the travelers arrive, for their safe and immediate return to the United Kingdom on charter flights.

Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Ana Teresita González spoke September 27 in London, alongside David Maxim Triesman, a member of the House of Lords since 2004, and co-chairman of the Cuba Initiative.
