The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

A government committed to serving the people

Santa Clara, Villa Clara.–Nothing could have been more natural for Villa Clara than the profound debates that took place yesterday during the analysis of the two-day central government visit to the province which included several sites of economic and social importance and interaction with the population in the province. The delegation was led by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Salvador Valdés Mesa, President and Vice President, respectively, of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers.

The popular debate will determine the Constitution’s content

The importance of the discussions taking place across the country of the Draft Constitution, approved by the National Assembly of People’s Power, was highlighted by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, who led a government delegation on a two-day visit to Villa Clara, to check progress on important economic and social programs.

New Cuban Constitution, for a society in which no one loses

Cuba is expanding rights, transforming its state structure to better respond to citizens concerns, and adapting legislation to match changes which have taken place over the last decade in the country’s economy to function within the difficult international situation. Since August 13, Fidel is being honored with a popular debate in which the entire people is acting as a constituent body, discussing a proposal that has already been the subject of extended debate in the National Assembly.
