The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Raúl congratulates Cuban women on FMC’s 55th anniversary
President Rául Castro sent heartfelt congratulations to women across the island on the 55th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women’s founding (FMC). His message was conveyed by the organization’s secretary general, Teresa Amarelle Boué, also a member of the Party Central Committee, during the national celebration of the anniversary in the province of Granma, which was chosen as the event’s site in recognition of the FMC’s accomplishments in the region.

President Raul Castro returned to this capital yesterday night after a tour of Algeria, Russia and Italy, nations that showed a great hospitality towards the Caribbean nation. Raul Castro was welcomed at the Jose Marti International Airport by Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, and Interior Minister, Army Corps General Abelardo Colome Ibarra. President Raul Castro Holds Meeting with Algerian Authorities
Cuba”s President Raul Castro, today met with Prime Minister of Algeria Abdelmalek Selal, and with the leader of the National People”s Assembly Mohamed Larbi Ould Khalifa.
