The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuba, invincible in the Baseball 5 World Cup
The Cuban team has overwhelmed its rivals in the first Baseball5 World Cup, which is being held in the Zócalo, Mexico City, and is emerging as the favorite. On Wednesday morning they defeated Hong Kong twice, with scores of 12-3 and 10-0 (knockout). They also had no mercy in the two games against the locals. That night they were awarded the first super knockout of the championship (21-0) and, later, the second knockout of the date (10-0). The Cuba team produced 53 runs on Wednesday.

María Salud Ramírez Caballero, Mama Coco, dies at 109
The woman who inspired the character of Mama Coco in the famous film Coco, produced by Pixar studios and winner of the Oscar in 2017 for best animated film, died this Sunday, Mexican authorities reported. “I deeply regret the death of Doña María Salud Ramírez Caballero, Mama Coco, a tireless woman and example of life, who was an inspiration for this beloved character who went around the world,” reported Roberto Monroy, Secretary of Tourism of Michoacán (west ), the state of origin.

Cuba thanks Mexico for sending material for the recovery of the electrical system in the West
Cuban authorities thanked Mexico on Monday for sending 113 tons of resources for the recovery of the electrical system in western Cuba. The Minister of Energy and Mines, Liván Arronte Cruz, during the reception at the José Martí International Airport for the last of the 16 flights, with around 13 tons of post-type insulators, recognized the presence of 17 technicians and specialists in generation in Cuba and the strength of bilateral relations.

Mexican planes arrive in Cuba to contribute to the recovery after the passage of Ian
Two planes from Mexico arrived in Cuba today with electrical equipment destined for the recovery of the Pinar del Río province, which was severely affected by the passage of category 3 Hurricane Ian on the Saffir-Simpson scale. The ambassador of the Aztec nation on the island, Miguel Díaz Reynoso, and local authorities, received the solidarity charge that will contribute to the recovery in the western region.

A new earthquake shakes Mexico: At least two deaths in the capital
An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 was recorded early this Thursday, with an epicenter once again in the municipality of Coalcomán, Michoacán, which was perceived in some areas of Mexico City and activated the seismic alert. The authorities reported that two people died in the capital of the Republic. The movement was recorded at 01:16 a.m. 84 kilometers from Coalcomán, where just last Monday September 19, an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 was recorded, causing landslides mainly in Michoacán and Colima.

President of Mexico describes Julian Assange as a Quixote of freedom of expression
Julian-AssangeAndrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, said the day before that Julian Assange, creator of WikiLeaks, is “a Quixote of freedom of expression and does not deserve to be in jail.” In his morning press conference yesterday at the National Palace, the president made the comment when referring to the lies and misrepresentations in the opposing press and social networks about his government and civil society.He asked young people to investigate why they have Assange in prison.

Mexico: 7.7 earthquake leaves two deaths and damages in five entities
This Monday an earthquake in Mexico of magnitude 7.7 caused the death of two women, injuries to another and two minors, as well as damage to homes, schools, shopping centers, medical units, government offices, temples and bridges, and landslides on highways in Colima , Michoacán, Jalisco and Nayarit, according to reports from state civil protection authorities.The governor of Colima, Indira Vizcaíno, reported that a woman died after the wall of a Coppel store in Manzanillo fell on her.

A visit to strengthen brotherhood

López Obrador: No time to lose
Andres Manuel López Obrador says there is no time to lose to transform his country. After being elected President of Mexico July 1, he announced the first 13 reforms that he will send to Congress and that will mark the beginning of his government. But questions remain as to the situation he will be faced with when he assumes the presidency on December 1st.
