The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuban drug approved to treat COVID-19 in India
India’s Drug Regulatory Authority has approved exceptional use of the Cuban drug Itolizumab to treat severe patients with COVID-19, reported Eduardo Ojito Magaz, director of Cuba’s Molecular Immunology Center (CIM), on Twitter. Winner of a National Prize from the Cuban Academy of Sciences in 2014, this humanized monoclonal antibody has been part of the medical care protocol for COVID-19 in Cuba since April.

Using waste from rice processing to generate energy
Cuban experts, with advice from India, have set up a plant that will allow the use of rice husks to generate electricity. The work is being carried out at the Enrique Troncoso mill, the largest in the province, affiliated with the Los Palacios Agroindustrial Enterprise, where this new technology will make it possible to save more than 200 tons of diesel a year.

Chinese President Meets India”s Prime Minister
Chinese President Xi Jinping wished today a happy stay to India”s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his home province of Shaanxi, where he was welcomed with honors in an unusual gesture of the local protocol. The Chinese leader said this is the first time that he has received a foreign statesman in his birthplace, after welcoming Modi in the ancient city of Xi’an.
