The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuba’s Work in Protecting Rights of Children Stressed
Organizations from the Cuban civil society highlighted here the island’s work in protecting and promoting the rights of children and adolescents. The experiences in the work towards the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents were the focus of a parallel panel discussion to the 30th Session of the Human Rights Council, running in this city.

68 World Health Assembly Opens in Geneva
Other issues will be also discussed, such as the world vaccination plan to reduce rates of malaria, the effects of pollution on health, medicines below standard, illegitimate products, with deceptive or forged labeling. The opening ceremony will be chaired by outgoing president Roberto Morales Ojeda, minister of Health of Cuba, who led the assembly last year. The World Health Assembly is the most important decision-making body of the World Health Organization (WHO).
