The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

The Five head to Africa
In a press conference held yesterday at the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), it was announced that the five Cuban antiterrorists Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González and René Gon zález will embark on a tour of Africa from June 28 through July 8. The trip, which will begin in South Africa, then to Namibia and ending in Angola, comes in response to invitations sent by the African National Congress (ANC), and South West Africa People’s Organization(SWAPO), among others, explained Fernando González, vice president of ICAP and decorated Hero of the Republic of Cuba.
