The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuba promotes inclusion in European Union-Latin America mechanisms

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez today called for the inclusion of countries like Venezuela in mechanisms of action that link Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. Through his Twitter account, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on his participation in the Informal Ministerial Meeting of the European Union with Latin America and the Caribbean (EU-LAC) that takes place virtually.

Cuba to participate in Ministerial Meeting

Cuba will participate in the Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers from the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, to be held virtually on Dec.24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the island reported today. In the meeting, the Cuban delegation together with the rest of the delegations will hold talks on the need of a joint response to Covid-19, as well as the use of new information and communication technologies, in that context.

Cuba and the EU working to strengthen bilateral relations

Taking to her Twitter account Cuba’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ana Teresita González Fraga, noted that the meeting will be chaired by EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and Rodríguez Parrilla. According to González Fraga, this First encounter, “will provide an opportunity to advance relations between Cuba and the regional bloc,” following on from their Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement signed in 2017.

A delegation of Cuban health professionals arrived to Slovakia May 24, where they will offer assistance in the application of Heberprot-P, a unique medication developed by the island’s Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center (CIGB) to treat diabetic foot ulcers, according to a report published on the Cuban Foreign Ministry website.
