The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

April is a celebration of Cuban youth
Thousands of young people from Sancti Spíritus kicked off the festivities to mark April 4, the 56th anniversary of the Young Communist League (UJC) and 57th anniversary of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM), taking to the fields early this April 1, in the Las Nuevas UBPC (Basic Unit of Cooperative Production), in La Sierpe, and the Boris Luis Santa Coloma CPA (Agricultural Production Cooperative), in Jatibonico, to assist with the planting of new sugar cane fields, a strategic objective for the development of this territory.
