The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

A large representative delegation of the varied Cuban civil society arrives today in Peru for the side events to the 8th Summit of the Americas, which will be held here this week. Some 170 members of Cuban organizations and associations traveled to this capital city seeking to bring the message of the Cuban people to their counterparts from the rest of the countries in the Americas.

Cuban civil society denounces blockade
Under the maxim: “The blockade harms the Cuban people” the 13th Cuban Civil Society Forum took place on October 12, in Havana.
Various educational, scientific and religious institutions reiterated their rejection of the almost 60-year long U.S. blockade against Cuba, which has caused the island damages totaling around 753,688,000,000 USD to date.
