The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Party Central Committee Plenum considers draft Constitution of the Republic of Cuba
Chaired by its First Secretary Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, the 8th Plenum of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee was held, with two days of work devoted to analysis of the latest draft of the proposed Constitution of the Republic of Cuba, reflecting the popular consultation process, which will be presented to deputies in the next session of the National Assembly of People’s Power, at which time all the details will be offered to our people.

Party leadership body meets
With its first secretary Army General Raúl Castro Ruz presiding, yesterday December 20, the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee met. José Ramón Machado Ventura, Central Committee second secretary, reported on work undertaken by the Political Bureau, in particular that related to the fulfillment of agreements made during the 7th Party Congress.

Third Central Committee Plenum approves documents on the updating of the Cuban economic and social model
Following an extensive process of popular consultation and discussion, in which more than 1.6 million Cubans participated, including Party and Young Communist League (UJC) members, representatives of mass organizations, and broad sectors of society, members of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, meeting in their Third Plenum, approved the three documents guiding the updating of Cuba’s economic and social model
