The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Ecuador: Sweden Could Contribute to Solve Assange’s Case

Quito, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) Ecuadorian representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), María Isabel Salvador, said that Sweden could contribute to solve the case of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. “I think the solution should come from Sweden, with a way, a light, in order to prevent Assange for being extradited to the United States or make what Ecuador is proposing,” the diplomat said in an interview with Prensa Latina in this capital.

Wikileaks: Julian Assange Requests Political Asylum

Quito, 19 jun (PL) Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, requested political asylum today to the government of Ecuador, and he is now at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London according to a statement made by Foreing Minister Ricardo Patiño.
