The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Angola’s independence struggle commemorated in Cuba

“From Angola we take with us a close friendship that unites us with this heroic nation, the gratitude of its people and the remains of the dear brothers killed in the line of duty,” Army General Raúl Castro stated back in 1976, summing up the contribution of the Cuban people in the definitive liberation of the African country.

Díaz-Canel arrives in China

First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, arrived in Beijing on September 1, together with the Cuban delegation participating in the commemorations of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People and the end of WWII. The visit comes within the framework of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the People’s Republic of China, an appropriate occasion on which to ratify the excellent state of our multifaceted and strategic ties.
