In all of the country’s provinces the people came out in defense of their Revolution and in support of our revolutionary project being constructed for the good of all.
- In Havana, alongside the people, was Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution; the Party First Secretary and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez; as well as other members of the Party Political Bureau, Secretariat and Central Committee; the Council of Ministers, and leaders of the Young Communist League and mass organizations.

- Long live free Cuba! Free from foreign interference and free from the hatred incited by those who for 60 years have attempted to asphyxiate the nation and provoke a social explosion, and now presenting themselves as our saviors,” Díaz-Canel stated, during the massive event on the city’s waterfront, insisting, “Cuba is totally allergic to hate and will never be a land of hate!”
- He noted that, over the weeks prior to the disturbances, an intense political-communication operation was mounted by articulated platform of media poison, financed by the U.S. government and by the state of Florida’s political machinery. Its objective was to encourage unrest and instability in the country, taking advantage of the difficult conditions caused by the pandemic, the tightened blockade and the Trump administration’s 243 additional measures.
- “We are under fire from sophisticated cyberwarfare that includes cyber-terrorism and media terrorism in its aggressive toolkit,” he said.
- “It is not uncommon that, under such a media barrage, some doubt and make statements assuming division that does not exist,” he added. “I do not judge, I do not condemn. I understand that the adversary’s weapons are overwhelming, but on the side of the people, with the people and for the people, the Revolution continues to stand!
-Let us put our hearts into our common work. A heart as big as of our difficulties! Together we can!” he exclaimed.

‘Next to the people, with the people and for the people, the Revolution continues. Not with statements, but with facts!’ he wrote, and accompanied his message with the hashtag #PonleCorazón.

The day before, thousands of people took to the streets in Havana and other provinces to reaffirm their rejection of the attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the Caribbean island and condemn the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, considered the main obstacle to Cuba’s development.

The Cuban foreign minister posted his statement on his Twitter account.

Russia denounced the provocation orchestrated by the West, particularly the United States, after supporting protests organized by followers of opposition blogger Alexei Navalni, prosecuted in two court cases, in several cities of the country.

According to Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the publication by the US Embassy of a list of Russian cities with the route of the demonstrations is an act of interference in the internal affairs of the country.

For her part, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented that an action of open interference like this, if it had been done in Washington, would already be the reason for a great scandal, sanctions against Russia, expulsion of its diplomats and other measures.

US Embassy’s officials should respond with arguments their decision to participate in the provocation against public order in Russia, the spokeswoman said.

According to Moscow media, some 4,000 people staged a rally in that capital, and in some places the number of Western journalists almost exceeded that figure.

Beginning today, through September 13, signatures will be collected in workplaces and schools in Havana, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Matanzas and Pinar del Río, in solidarity with Venezuela, the Chavista Bolivarian Revolution, the civic-military union of the country’s people, and their legitimate president Nicolás Maduro Moros.

“Cuban workers in these provinces, representing the entire country, will sign to reaffirm our support for the Venezuelan government and people, in the face of aggression from the United States,” said Consuelo Baeza Martín, a member of the Federation of Cuban Workers (CTC) Secretariat, speaking with Granma.”At workplaces and schools, we will reiterate once again our solidarity and our support for this sister country,” she added. The effort was undertaken to add Cuba´s voice to a letter sent by the Venezuelan people to Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres, requesting that he enforce international law and demand and end of U.S. aggression.Beginning last August 10, to date, more than ten million Venezuelans have signed the letter rejecting U.S. interference and the unilateral actions of President Donald Trump. The activities have generated support within the international community.
