During the fraternal meeting, the two leaders discussed the bonds of brotherhood that characterize bilateral relations and the main aspects of the existing cooperation between both nations. The Cuban President reiterated the island’s solidarity with the Saharawi cause and the support for its right to self-determination.

They also exchanged views on issues of interest on the international agenda.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Omar Mansur, Minister for Latin America and the Caribbean; Ambassador Melainine Etkana; and Abdati Breika, adviser to the President.

Participating on the Cuban side were Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Sierra Díaz; and Cuba’s Ambassador to the Arab nation, Clara Pulido Escandell.

The letter, presented by Cuban Ambassador Raúl Barzaga Navas, reaffirms the island’s willingness to continue strengthening the ties of fraternity, solidarity and cooperation which unite the two governments and peoples.

In honor of the important occasion, Barzaga Navas also presented a message of congratulations to Sahrawi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moha med Salem Uld Salek, signed by the Cuban Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.
