Party Political Bureau analyzes key issues in the economic and social life of the country

Yesterday morning, November 24, the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee met, chaired by its first secretary, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.

The meeting began with a minute of silence in honor of Vice Admiral Julio César Gandarilla Bermejo, member of the Party’s Central Committee and Minister of the Interior, who died in the early hours of the day.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz presented several documents related to the economic and social life of the country, which will be analyzed during the upcoming VIII Congress of the organization. The agenda included a review of the economy’s performance over the five-year period 2016-2020; and a report on the status of implementation of the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution.

Proposals were presented to update the Conceptualization of the Cuban Economic and Social Model of Socialist Development, as well as the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines, for the period 2021-2026.

Chaired by its first secretary, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee met yesterday to address issues that will be presented for analysis at the upcoming 8th Congress of the organization.

On this occasion, analyzed was the document entitled “Assessment of policies regarding Party cadres, the Young Communists League, mass organizations, the state and government. Role of the Party to achieve superior results.”
