The visits began with a stop at the Granma facility in the capital, where maritime equipment is fabricated, repaired, updated, and sold, along with the production of items destined for the national market including stoves, metal doors, and marble floor tiles.

In the Naval Research and Development Center, Raul received a detailed explanation of research projects being conducted for the Revolutionary War Navy, before visiting a number of workshops at the site.

His second stop was the Grito de Baire plant, where military products, as well as others for the domestic market are fabricated. The staff presented a report on the facility’s electronic and communications productions. Raúl left a written message for the workforce here, highlighting their constancy and effort.

The day’s last visit was to the Emilio Bárcenas Pier facility, where Revolutionary Armed Forces armored vehicles and other means of transportation are repaired and modernized. The 1,700 skilled workers here provide maintenance and repair services for bulldozers, cranes, tractors, and heavy duty trucks, as well as generators, industrial cauldrons, and air conditioners, while also producing aluminum and wooden furniture for homes, among many other items.

Accompanying Raul on the tour, as on previous occasions, were José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and a Council of State vice president; First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez; Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Army Corps General Leopoldo Cintra Frías, and Vice Admiral Julio César Gandarilla Bermejo, heads of Economy and Planning, the Revolutionary Armed Forces, and the Ministry of the Interior, respectively, as well as other leaders of the military industry.

The military ceremony held this Monday to mark the 119th anniversary of the death in combat of Major General Antonio Maceo and his assistant, Captain Panchito Gómez Toro, was also an occasion to commemorate the posthumous tribute which began 26 years ago, through Operación Tributo (Operation Tribute), with the transfer of the remains of those Cubans who lost their lives fighting in Angola and elsewhere in Africa.

During the political act which took place at the El Cacahual monument complex, the member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Western Army, Division General Onelio Aguilera Bermúdez, recalled the events and actions that defined Maceo as a man whose loyalty knew no limits, a military strategist with a spirit of sacrifice; principles that have accompanied us in these 50 years of struggle and are emulated by new generations who defend the achievements of socialism.

“As big as the risks may be, no matter how the enemy is disguised, whether he resorts to open or subtle attacks in his permanent war against Cuba, we will continue waving our flags and holding high the machete wielded by Maceo,” Aguilera Bermúdez stated.

The commitment that each contribute the best of him or herself, studying hard and continuing to defend the gains of the Revolution, was ratified on behalf of the children’s José Martí Pioneers Organization, by Alena Isis Acosta, a student at the Conrado Benítez School in Mayabeque.

The tribute was attended by members of the Party Political Bureau, the Army Crops General and Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Ramón Espinosa Martín, deputy minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) and Mercedes López Acea, a vice president of the Council of State and first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Havana.

Also attending were leaders of the government, of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, of the FAR and the Ministry of Interior, representatives of the diplomatic-military corps in Cuba and various student and mass organizations.

During the event, floral wreaths were laid on behalf of the Cuban people to Antonio Maceo and Panchito Gómez Toro and a tribute was also offered to the prominent Communist Blas Roca Calderío and the Liberation Army soldier, Juan Fajardo Vega, known as the last Mambí.

Britain’s MI6 officers have been engaged in drilling Libyan rebels, helping them to establish a proper military plan for an assault on the capitol Tripoli.

On Tuesday, British newspapers revealed that the UK not only detached spies and former SAS gurus to train militants, but was also providing them with ammunition for the operation, including night-vision goggles, advanced communication equipment and no less than 1,000 sets of body armor.

The Telegraph published an article about MI6 consultants working in the rebel stronghold of Benghazi “for weeks”, culminating in the raid on the Libyan capital.

Needless to say, the technical military capabilities of the British air force were supposed to take the most active part in these plans, which they actually did on Saturday night, bombing out four Libyan communications centers and destroying artillery positions and tanks on the streets of the Libyan capital.

But even British warfare professionals were surprised at the speed with which the rebel forces were advancing deep into Colonel Gaddafi’s defenses, only to find out later they have been lured into a trap.

The rebels had actually smuggled guns and ammunitions, as well as fighters, into Tripoli beforehand, so when the hour came they just rolled through the streets in increasing numbers and met practically no resistance at all.

The rebels hoped their advance would spark an uprising in the capital, but the actual number of citizens who chose to join premature democratic celebrations on Green Square was considerably moderate in comparison with the thousands who preferred to stand by the country’s leader in the governmental district of Bab al-Aziziya armed with the handguns distributed among the locals earlier.

During all that time, Royal Air Force Tornadoes and Typhoons continued to bomb governmental objects inside the Libyan capital, including Muammar Gaddafi’s bunker in Bab al-Aziziya and other buildings that the loyalist troops could use to their benefit, including schools – empty due to summertime – and the RAF still continues to do so, now focusing on the central part of the city. On Sunday alone the fighter jets made 46 attacks on various objects

The assault on the Libyan capital has been nurtured, orchestrated and co-ordinated by former and serving British intelligent officers. Questions now emerge as to how many of them have been KIA on the streets of Tripoli and if Gaddafi’s troops will be capable to present living proof of the UK plotting a military coup in a sovereign state.

Meanwhile, a military spokesperson from Operation Unified Protector rejected all reports of connections between NATO and the rebels.

During a video-conference from the Libyan mission’s Naples headquarters, Colonel Roland Lavoie stressed that the alliance and anti-Gaddafi forces have never planned combined operations. Lavoie assured that all the information about the situation in Libya NATO leaders is obtained from “allied countries”.

However, freelance journalist Sukant Chandan, says the rebels have never been independent forces, “They have always been in the pocket of Western intelligence services,” he told RT.

“This whole conflict has been engineered by Western governments since the beginning of mid-February. It is the same now in Tripoli.”

To Chandan it is obvious that yesterday’s attacks had been “planned all along for weeks by NATO forces.”
