Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel, sent a message of condolences to the people and government of Guatemala for the loss of human life and destruction caused by a volcanic eruption on June 3.

In a letter addressed to Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales, the Cuban head of state extended his condolences to the families of the victims.

The volcanic eruption mainly affected the southern department of Escuintla, where dozens are reported to have died.

President Maduro sends a message of unity and peace to Venezuelans

President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro posted a video through his Twitter account in which he sent a message of peace and called for unity, alongside several of his ministers.

“We want a United Venezuela, we want a Venezuela in Peace… We want a Venezuela for All. We do not need to raise our voice to say so: Together everything is possible,” the president tweeted.

Meanwhile, Minister of Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez, noted that “This is an effort of young Venezuelan filmmakers to include those who for decades were excluded, to send a message to Venezuela and the world of inclusion, hope, peace and of permanent dialogue.”

On Saturday the head of state said he had prepared a “surprise” for Venezuelans and invited them to be attentive at 8:55p.m on Sunday, when he posted the video.

Raúl sends condolences to President Putin

Cuban President Raúl Castro Ruz sent heartfelt condolences to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for the loss of life caused by the crash of an Air Bus 321 aircraft flying from the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, October 31, in which 224 persons died.

The Cuban President requested that his condolences be extended to families of those who perished in the tragic accident.
