According to Osorio, the Government began the creation of those organizations less than a month ago seeking to confront and reduce speculation, hoarding and smuggling of basic products.

“The people´s councils for supply and production across Venezuela must be set on premises of the national supplying network seeking to control public management from there, particularly of foodstuff”, said Osorio.

“These councils will also monitor the quality of services and the internal management of the premises”, said Osorio.

The establishment of these popular organizations was asked by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, as part of an offensive launched against those fostering the economic war.

Maduro recently ruled out any agreement with the Venezuelan right-wing, which seeks to disregard the damages caused by the economic war to the country.

Venezuelan authorities this week denounced several campaigns from Colombia and Spain to criminalize the South American nation. According to National Assembly (Parliament)Speaker Diosdado Cabello, the fair treatment of the Colombians who cross the border to settle here is guaranteed in this country.

In that regards, Cabello questioned the statements by Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin, who said that the situation in Venezuela was “difficult”, and urged to hold talks to establish a bi-national commission to analyze the cases of deportation.

Venezuelan Ombudsman Tarek William denied there are mass deportations of Colombians, and condemned the media campaign to give the issue the connotation of human rights violations to criminalize Venezuela.

Over the past seven days, Deputy National Assembly Speaker Tania Diaz charged that using Venezuela as an issue in Spanish electoral campaigns is an interference in the country’s internal affairs.

After the forum “The Spanish Right Wing against Venezuela”, Diaz demanded that Spanish politicians take the Venezuelan people and institutions out of their electoral debates.

President Nicolas Maduro met at the Miraflores Palace this week with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, with whom he talked on bilateral relations and the goal of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to stabilize crude oil prices at $100 USD a barrel.

This week, Maduro appeared on television to discard a rapprochement with the Venezuelan right wing and the national oligarchy to revert the damage caused by the economic war.
