The authorities reported that two people died in the capital of the Republic.

The movement was recorded at 01:16 a.m. 84 kilometers from Coalcomán, where just last Monday, September 19, an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 was recorded, causing landslides mainly in Michoacán and Colima.

According to the first reports, one of the most affected towns was Uruapan, where the facilities of a BBVA branch in the center of that town in the Purépecha region of Michoacán were seriously damaged.

Civil Protection of Michoacán activated its surveillance and attention protocol this morning in the 113 municipalities of Michoacán, in which the telluric movement was felt.

Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla called on the inhabitants of the entity to remain calm and reported that his administration is already in communication with the municipalities of Coalcomán and Coahuayana, to deal with possible damage.

Soldiers from the Mexican Army and agents from the Civil Guard (State Police) joined the inspection tours.

Initially, the National Seismological had said that the magnitude had been 6.5, a figure that was later adjusted.

In a first report, at 2 in the morning, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador pointed out that the earthquake with an intensity of 6.9 was felt in Michoacán, Colima, Jalisco, Guerrero and Mexico City, where, until now, no reported damage, and “we will continue to monitor” the information that is collected.

Meanwhile, the Head of Government indicated on her social networks that the earthquake was noticeable in the country’s capital, the emergency protocols were activated and, unfortunately, two people died.

The Secretary of Citizen Security of Mexico City, Omar García Harfuch, informed Sheinbaum that “the condors that fly over the City have no record of damage in the City, so far.”

Except for these failures in the electric power service, the mayor’s offices did not report damages.

The mayor of Iztapalapa, Clara Brugada, reported that after the first reviews of hospital infrastructure, public transport services, elevated Metro and Trolleybus, as well as hydraulic infrastructure, they were not affected.

“We have reports of several neighborhoods without electricity, pending the prompt restoration of service by the Federal Electricity Commission,” she said.

The mayor of Coyoacán, Giovani Gutiérrez, also reported that there were no damages in the demarcation, “only some failures in the electricity supply.”

Margarita Saldaña, from Azcapotzalco, indicated that after the earthquake the security protocols were activated and the civil protection area of the mayor’s office remains alert to attend to the reports that are generated.

She indicated that the City Hall’s C4 Control, Command, Communications and Computing Center “does not report any damage at the moment.”

The mayor of Tlalpan, Alfa González, indicated that after the activation of the protocols at the moment, everything is perceived without serious effects”, while the head of Tláhuac, Berenice Hernández, reported that she toured the mayor’s office and no news was reported. Except for some neighborhoods without electricity service and like the mayor of Xochimilco, José Carlos Acosta, he asked citizens to report failures in the seismic warning system to Locatel, at 56581111, with the ID of the post and its location with street and neighborhood.

The National Coordination of Civil Protection indicated that in Michoacán, Colima, Morelos and Jalisco it was perceived with strong intensity, while in Mexico City it was moderate to strong.

Until 2:00 a.m. this Thursday, 1,229 aftershocks of the 7.7 earthquake that occurred in Michoacán last Monday have been registered, the largest of magnitude 6.9, reported the SSN.

The brigade members were received at Havana’s José Martí International Airport by Marcia Cobas, a member of the Party Central Committee and deputy minister of Public Health, as well as Brigade General and Interior Minister (Minint), José Luis Mesa Silva.

The group composed of 29 rescue workers traveled to Ecuador where they helped with recovery efforts over 10 days, together with health professionals from the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Large-Scale Epidemics.

Upon receiving the delegation, Cobas highlighted the importance of the mission which saw collaboration between “health personnel and Minint officials,” for the first time.

Cobas noted that the brigade’s work in Ecuador was short but intense; highlighting the team’s rigorous and disciplined efforts, all the while supported by experienced health professionals.

On behalf of the Minint leadership, Colonel Luis Carlos Guzmán Matos, chief of the Cuban Fire Department, congratulated the team on their work and stated that “once more Cuba’s name was held high with displays of solidarity and altruism.”

Colonel Lázaro Herrera Hernández, head of the search and rescue team expressed his pride at returning home in the knowledge that they had fulfilled their duty.
The brigade members spoke briefly about the moving scenes they witnessed and experienced in Ecuador, something they will surely never forget.

“I was in Manabí and Porto Viejo. The gratitude shown by people who had lost everything, by children who came up to us and called us heroes, by people who brought us food at our camp, was immense,” said Rafael Velázquez Lalana.
Edel Llópiz Sáchez noted that the greatest reward for his work was seeing the expressions of appreciation on people’s faces.

Each brigade member received a letter of recognition from the Ministry of Public Health and reproduction of a painting of the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, by Ernesto Rancaño.
Also in attendance at the welcome home ceremony was Regla Angulo, director of the Central Unit of Medical Cooperation, in addition to other Minint officials.

The latest report from the Ministry of Interior said that the huge tremor-the April 25 marked 7.9 degrees on the Richter scale; the day before yesterday, 7,3- caused about 19 thousand wounded and multibillion-dollar losses in buildings, roads and other infrastructure.

Rescuers from the army and police, as well as other countries, now intensify the search in the districts most affected by the jolt on Tuesday, especially in Dolakha (130 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu), where he located the epicenter and the dead are almost half of the total.

Narrated field teams to local television that the tasks of search, rescue and delivery of food, water, medicine and material assistance of various kinds is hampered by landslides that block roads and roads in a region always inaccessible by the mountain.

Despite its magnitude, the quake was listed antier by geologists as an aftershock on April 25. Clearly perceptible tremors since then pass 240, for an average of more than 13 replicas per day.

Categorizations aside, what most worries the Nepalese is that earthquakes of the past three weeks are signs of an ancient and persistent process of readjustment of the crust that can still bring new aftershocks of incalculable consequences.

Kathmandu, May 12 A new earthquake, between 7.1 and 7.4 degrees on the Richter scale rocked Nepal today, whose residents are still recovering from the psychological and material occurred on April 25 impact.

A spokesman for the local police, Kamal Singh Bam, said four of those killed residing in the town of Chautara, Sindhupalchowk district, the same where the previous tremor left nearly a third of all victims it caused.

The other three were residents of Kathmandu, the capital, where there was disruption of services fixed and mobile telephony, electricity and Internet.

The authorities do not rule out an increase in the balance of fatal quake, whose magnitude was set at 7.4 by the US Geological Survey and 7.3 by the Seismological Center of Nepal.

Its epicenter was located north-east of Kathmandu, on a point close to Everest, the highest mountain in the world with eight thousand 848 meters above the sea.

Seismographs also detected six replicates in quick succession, the eldest, very intense, of 6.3 degrees.

Reports Nepalese TV channels and radio stations described scenes of terror in Kathmandu, with people out into the streets in panic for fear of collapsing homes, offices or buildings where they were.

The jolt on Tuesday also clearly felt in northern and eastern India, and Bangladesh (southeastern Nepal).

Experts believe that the crust has not even gotten a temporary accommodation after the earthquake of April 25 and that are predictable new movements of varying intensity.

In the days since the Seismological Center of Nepal it has recorded more than 160 aftershocks.
