Yet politicians are often constrained by concerns about narrow constituency /clique interest that they trample on that which might be good to all peoples irrespective of home zone, country or continent. I focus on politicians because the power to decide or not decide the fate of millions rest with them. So when men who sit on powerful thrones wield the buttons that can obliterate us all we must take keen interest in their cerebral endowments. Not doing so may accidentally send us all to “thy kingdom come.” Such is the reason why we should guard against modern day Caligula’s presiding over affairs in places like the White House, 10 Downing Street, the Kremlin, the E. Palace in Paris and other life threatening presidential hubs around the world. So when there is a race for the White House it becomes our common concern not because we are all Americans but because the occupant of that house may deny us all a tomorrow. That is why we watch men like Romney, Santorum or Gingrich with keen interest and concern as they speak of bombing a place like Iran as if it is in outer space inhabited by no one. If these men had the slightest knowledge about our fragile place in the universe they probably will take a broader view of the human condition. I thank you Fidel for taking such a view. Best wishes.
