As you know, even us Canadians have many misconceptions. In the North, most are blinded by this shroud called freedom & democracy. Most believe it is the Cuban people that aren’t free & without love from there leaders. I myself was confused when I learned in Cuba that the people love their leaders as heroes. I found hearts more free & with more passion, from the Cuban people, I could not have imagined. The hard struggle to create equality for all of humanity is alive in Cuba, & unknown in the North. The corruptive shroud enstilled in the American culture so ingeniously by the rich, has most of us fooled. Our dreams of prosperity they use against us. The nation so close to their southern border, the true humanitarians of our time. A tiny Cuba, with a heart stronger than any nation in our world, not blind, standing & speaking against crime, willing to fight if they have to. As a Canadian man still young & naive in many ways, if there was ever to be such a fight, I’ll be on the first flight to Cuba asking for a rifle, to stand in line with the Cuban Army. The people that hold the line for one of the last great stands of all time. The stand to fight against the corruption against humanity thats imbedded in the North American facade. Are there no atheists on the island? Are there no enemies of the church – especially the catholic church – on the island? This man who is deeply involved in the pedophile scandal and the following cover-ups. There are even plenty of catholics who despise him (go and ask the Irish people). So the give him ‘the warmest welcome on behalf of our nation sounds wrong.
