As part of an official visit to Cuba, Domingos Vicente laid flowers at the Pantheon to Cuban Internationalists killed inAngola.
He also toured the Mausoleum located in Havana’s Colon Cemetery, accompanied by Brigadier General Delsa Esther Puebla, of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, among other members of the organization and government officials.
During his visit to the Pantheon, Domingos Vicente held a friendly exchange with Gerardo Hernández and Fernando González, Cuban anti-terrorists unjustly imprisoned in the United States, who also had the honor of having fulfilled an internationalist mission in Angola.
We could not overlook this visit, the Angolan Vice President said, referring to the gratitude for the support provided by Cuba to preserve the sovereignty of this African country after its independence in 1975.
Highlighting the bonds of brotherhood between Cubans and Angolans forged in the struggle, Domingos Vicente vowed for the preservation and strengthening of ties and friendship between the two countries.
In this regard, he stressed that his visit to the island seeks to take stock of current bilateral cooperation and identify ways to increase it.
