Russia Denies Presence of Troops in Southeastern Ukraine

russia_Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, denied today the alleged presence of Russian troops in the Ukrainian southeast, in response to repeated accusations by President Petro Poroshenko.

I see no need to repeat such unfounded allegations without anything concrete or evidence, commented Peskov recent statements by Poroshenko during his visit to Germany that about 11 thousand Russian troops remained on Ukrainian territory, despite the Minsk agreements.

Such speculations do not contribute on the positive side, said the spokesman of President Vladimir Putin. The Russian Defense Ministry denied the emplacement in Donbass -Ukrainian southeast- of antiaircraft complexes, a version released by the US State Department.

The military spokesman, General Igor Konashenkov, said there are no Russian air defense systems, and “neither will be.”

We can only speculate, added Konashenkov, about the real reasons for the ‘obsessive phobia’ of the representatives of the State Department towards the Russian anti-aircraft systems.

During the annual program “Hotline with the President” Vladimir Putin said on last April the absence of Russian military in Ukraine.

To the Defense spokesman, the State Department ought to be concerned about the real and proven presence of US instructors, dislocated even in the Ukrainian southeast, under control of Kiev forces.

The officer submitted as evidence and not myths the videos broadcasted by Russian and foreign channels that prove the US military presence in conflict zones in the neighboring country, as well as financial support for the Ukrainian army.

For Russia’s Vice representative at the UN, Piotr Ilichev, with insinuations and speculations of all kinds in connection with Moscow’s role in the conflict in Donbass, Kiev seeks to divert attention from their inability and lack of preparation to meet the Minsk agreements.

Russia, like the rebellious republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, blames the Ukrainian authorities’ unwillingness to comply, especially with the political part of those compromises signed in the Belarusian capital on February 12th, a path towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

While skirmishes in the line of contention between the Ukrainian forces and Donbass militias, and the tight economic and financial blockade to these regions by Ukraine persist, Kiev accuses Moscow of providing weapons to the militias, and not influencing on the Donbass leaders.

The Nemtsov report says that at least 220 Russian soldiers were killed in that area spring 2014. Putin filled up the gap when thugs and mercenary soldiers were losing ground to the Maidan uproar in Ukraine against Moscow. It sure helped to stop the uproar among Ukrainian working people and students. It was not in the interest of socialism.
