Most internet users are still extremely naive, and this applies doubly to those that avail themselves in so-called “social networking”, and doubly again to the recent followers of this phenomena in the Middle East, where the organs of the US government masquerade as democracy seeking and freedom loving protesters. The diametric opposite is the real truth, as they viscerally hate freedom and democracy in their own country and abroad, and have now turned to this social networking phenomena to subvert the very thing they pretend to embrace. One has only to read the various stories of “internet luring” to appreciate how the internet is used by deviants to masquerade as something else entirely, and the governmental deviants in America are cut from the same cloth. You have to hand it to them though, they’ve found an effective technique with which to stampede the sheep.
We must never abandon critical thinking, and must be relentless in questioning the motivation behind inflammatory messages.
